The Chicago Council, DePaul University, and the Poynter Institute Host Workshop for Regional Reporters in Advance of NATO and G8

The Chicago Council was named as part of a grant from the Robert R. McCormick Foundation to a Special Reporting Institute (SRI) for Midwestern journalists covering the NATO and G8 summits. The grant to the Poynter Institute, totaling $710,000, funded seven of these SRIs, or journalism training workshops, as well as Webinars and other online resources, around the nation over the next two years. The Council, Poynter, and DePaul University hosted one of these sessions, devoted to summit coverage, in Chicago on March 19-21. Chicago Council Senior Fellow Richard Longworth helped guide the selection of speakers and topics for this SRI.
